Winter in Michigan came in full force this year, especially throughout January, bringing freezing temperatures and snowy days that made staying warm a top priority. At Montclair, we turned the cold weather into the perfect opportunity to gather indoors and enjoy time together as a community.
One of the highlights of the season was our cozy “Soup-er Luncheon,” featuring a delicious homemade soup menu prepared in-house. Residents enjoyed comforting favorites including Italian wedding soup, minestrone, broccoli cheddar, and an old-world classic chili. The event brought everyone together for an afternoon filled with warm food, conversation, and fellowship. With such a wonderful turnout, residents left feeling full, warm, and connected during the heart of winter.
In February, we introduced a brand-new event that quickly became a resident favorite — “Bar Bango,” a music-centered twist on traditional bingo that brought plenty of energy and excitement to the community. We partnered with Chick-fil-A for a crowd-pleasing dinner, while MJR Theatres popcorn added the perfect movie-night touch. Of course, the evening would not have been complete without our favorite MC, DJ Smalls, who kept the crowd entertained with great music, fun turns, and nonstop laughter throughout the night. Residents also enjoyed curated prizes that made the competition even more exciting.
February also brought a sweet community tradition as residents celebrated Fat Tuesday with Paczki Day featuring fresh treats from Golden Donuts. The delicious assortment of paczki flavors was the perfect way to enjoy the holiday, and residents loved gathering together for coffee, conversation, and a little extra indulgence before Lent.
The fun carried right into March with our March Madness Happy Hour, where residents gathered to watch college teams compete while cheering alongside friends and family. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, friendly competition, and plenty of team spirit. The Italian American Cultural Society and Banquet Center supplied a crowd-pleasing variety of dips, tournament snacks, and classic game-day favorites that kept everyone coming back for more. Between the great food, lively conversations, and basketball on the screens, the event was another wonderful reminder of how much our residents enjoy spending time together as a community.
This season also brought exciting professional growth for our maintenance team, as our technicians received their CAM certifications, adding even more knowledge, expertise, and skill to their already impressive arsenal. Their continued dedication to professional development reflects the commitment we have to providing exceptional service and care throughout the community.
From comforting winter lunches to lively game nights and spring celebrations, the winter and spring months at Montclair were filled with warmth, laughter, growth, and memorable moments shared together.
